Visual Impact Case Study – DAF

At Visual Impact we place customer service above all things. It is telling that most of our clients have been with us for a number of years, and keep returning to us whenever they need a new signage. One such client is DAF.

We have a long-standing relationship with DAF and have provided signs and signage to their showrooms for years. Recently we went to Haddenham to install a complete range new signs and internal features throughout their head office.

Even by our standards, this was quite a large job. But, undaunted, we simply rolled up our sleeves and got to work.

As mentioned, we created a large number of products for DAF during this project. All told, we created a lawn sign, 3 fibreglass flagpoles, aluminium internal signs, window graphics and aluminium lettering for the reception area.

The lawn sign in particular was a very complex piece to build. DAF wanted a stone effect; however actual stone is not without its drawbacks. Cost, weight and corrosion resistance being a few. So instead we used Corian, a synthetic material that is often used for work surfaces and bar tops. Corian is substantially less expensive than stone, is easier to work with and is extremely resistant to corrosion.

We sandblasted the Corian panels which gave it the same texture and appearance of stone. This construction was then mounted on 5 steel legs, before we installed hand cut, powder coated aluminium letters.

We produced as much as we could for this project by hand in our facility in Wakefield. We prefer to do this as it gives us complete control over the quality of the items we produce. We can claim complete accountability and ownership – nothing leaves our facility that we are not 100% satisfied with.
